What is the minimum Age to take Scuba Lessons?
The minimum Age is 10 years old for a Junior Open Water Certification.
How long does a Scuba Certification last?
Your Scuba certification does not expire and is good worldwide. It is highly recommended that up keep in practice and dive as a minimum of 3 to 4 times a year. If you haven’t been diving in a couple of years you might want to take a refresher course to make sure your scuba skills are still proficient
Do I have to be a great swimmer to learn to Scuba Dive?
No. All you need is to be comfortable in the water and a reasonably proficient swimmer.
Is Scuba Diving hard to learn?
No, it is probably easier than you imagined. Scuba lessons are divided into 3 areas. 1) knowledge development . 2) Confined water skill Training. 3) Open water training dives.
Why do I have to get certified to dive?
The purpose of getting certified is so that you will be a safe and confident diver. The certification shows that you have shown a degree of proficiency in the basic skills, that will reduce your risk of getting injured. If you do not have a certification card, no reputable dive shop will rent you gear, fill your tank, or let you dive at their facility.
My ears hurt when I dive to the bottom of a pool. Won’t this prevent me from Scuba Diving?
Your ears hurt because the water pressure pushes in on your ear drum. In Scuba Diving we, will teach you some simple techniques to help you equalize your ears, so they will not hurt at all.
If I have a medical condition that effects me (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.) Will I be able to dive?
If you have a medical condition we will supply you with a medical history form. This form will have to be signed off by a Physician. If you doctor has any question he would be able to contact the Divers Alert Network (Dan.org) and speak to a Dive Medicine Doctor.
