Alpha Media – Richmond is looking for a talented, professional part-time Board Operator to run programming on 93.1 Hank FM and 107.3 BBT. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours and be available for additional shifts when necessary.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Operate on-air console and audio controls.
  • Produce and edit audio programming segments.
  • Understand the procedures to follow in case of computer crash or loss of broadcast signal.
  • Communicate with station Program Director in the event of any concerns, issues, or problems with the broadcast.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Willingness to learn all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn of EAS system and legal requirements.
  • Experience in digital editing software such as Adobe Audition.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and handle strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in running radio automation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot unexpected problems and fix them quickly.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:

  • Previous commercial or non-commercial radio experience.
  • Experience operating automation systems.

Alpha Media – Richmond is looking for a part time Street Team Crew member to be part of our street teams and the face of the stations. The Street Team will be interacting with listeners at events, setting up displays, facilitating games as well as other duties as assigned by the Promotions Director. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to interact with listeners, musical artists, clients of the radio stations at remotes, and sports team staff, while managing quick event set ups, tear downs and everything in between. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to take direction, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, be flexible with shift times and able to problem-solve on the fly (radio is a fast paced industry!)  and enjoy working in a team environment that is dynamic and fast paced.

Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Promotions Director, the Street Team member is responsible for assisting in the execution of any and all station and company events. This may include concerts, live remote broadcasts, station appearances, internal company events and/or conferences and more.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Setting up station events: raising tents, plugging in sound systems, putting up signage/banners.
  • Managing the events while in progress: interacting with listeners, leading games, prize wheels, speaking on the microphone/PA.
  • Successfully communicate with several different types of positions: listeners, employees, management at events, clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following:

  • 21 years or older.
  • Have an interest in radio.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
